Spring, Summer, and Fall
This is a study piece, and is also one of the few pieces that is oil paint over acrylic paint.This piece shows the different seasons depending on the direction you look at the piece.
It is rich in color, and was an experiment in seeing if I could show more than one texture, color, shape, and emotion in the same location. See Primmer (see below).
Primmer is the structured slats that can be painted on at either sides. They can be seen here, holding the paint vertically.
Another type of primmer was tried where primmer was painted for an entire piece horizontally, like a normal painting, and then the painting flipped, showing a new part of the piece.
But it was time consuming, and involved quite a bit of mechanics to do it. Eventually, I put it aside for other work.
