Artist's statement
My artistic practice is an exploration of color mechanics, structural interaction, various forms of change, the line, and structural precision, built upon a 22-year dedication to fine art and over a decade of concentrated color theory study, matrices, and studying calculus in my atwork.
Rejecting the constraints of standard application, at times, my work relies on a unique, self-developed methodology that pairs the fluid depth of oil paint with the dense, linear precision of colored pencil. This technical synthesis is executed on rigid panels and heavy canvases, providing the structural stability necessary to support complex, highly disciplined visual layers.
A foundational element of my creative process is a natural disposition toward extreme hyperfocus, a characteristic of my autism. This deep cognitive immersion allows me to disassemble and arrange complex spatial and tonal logic with a meticulous, calculated clarity. At times, rather than drafting rigid, predictable blueprints beforehand, my approach to the surface operates as a spontaneous, non-linear adventure. Each piece functions as a live web of structural relationships, where the final composition is discovered dynamically through the process itself. At other times, such as with Staccato, much of the other research is done beforehand, and on paper.
I have always been a natural pusher—a high-velocity creator who demands peak intensity from my execution. When confronted with Multiple Sclerosis and a history of complex mental health landscapes, my baseline drive did not fracture; it gained a sharper momentum. The physical challenges added an unyielding sense of urgency to my work, accelerating my technical evolution.
