Painting faces has always been a weakness of mine. Generally I am a landscape artist. I have spent years on faces and never quite got them right. Finally I decided I would practice them over and over in different poses, man and woman, until I got them right.
However, my goal is to create paintings that have people in them, and I want to clearly show their faces. I don't want their faces to look too real, but have somewhat of a fantastistic look to them, with the onlookers ability to fill in the blanks with their mind.
As you can see, as the number at the bottom gets lower, I get worse. I have been progressing, and eventually I will get it
